  • increasing the essential fatty acids in your diet, such as evening primrose oil or flax seed oil

  • taking 100 mcgs of selenium per day

  • taking 400 I.U.s of vitamin E per day

  • taking 1,000 mg of vitamin C per day

  • taking 15 mg of beta carotene per day

  • drinking six to eight glasses of water per day

  • avoiding drinks that contain caffeine

  • avoiding alcohol
